Seymour Duncan Vintage Staggered Single-Coil Pickup

The SSL-1 Vintage Staggered Strat from Seymour Duncan is a single-coil pickup constructed using hand-ground alnico 5 rod magnets and heavy Formvar magnet wire with a special wind pattern to produce a bright, glassy, bell tone. The pickups provide that smooth and chimey bounciness often associated with classic '50s Stratocasters. The treble attack is crisp and immediate, while the low end remains focused and articulate. Chords ring out with clear note-to-note separation. The SSL-1 is built in the style of Fender's golden age, starting with the correct color and thickness of Forbon flatwork, and a traditional keyed bottom plate. The flatwork is hand-filed, assembled with hand-ground magnets, and finished with a lacquered bobbin. After winding, the pickup is wax potted for squeal-free performance, then waxed and tinned cloth push-back hookup wires, and the bottom plate are attached. The SSL-1 is carefully hand-built in Santa Barbara, CA.
